Škoda Auto reports high demand for new electric Epiq and Peaq models

Škoda Auto is seeing strong initial demand for its new electric vehicle models, Epiq and Peaq, with over 45,000 total orders reported. In the Czech Republic specifically, the flagship Peaq model has secured 771 orders, a significant figure compared to the 166 electric vehicles sold in that segment throughout the previous year.

Czech consumers are showing a preference for high-end specifications. Most orders for the Peaq are for the 90x all-wheel-drive version with 220 kW of power, or the 'Exclusive Selection' trim, rather than the entry-level models. The Peaq is the largest SUV in the company's history, built on the MEB+ platform, and offers a battery capacity of up to 91 kWh with a range exceeding 630 km.

Globally, Škoda's electric vehicle sales are growing, with the Elroq and Enyaq models accounting for 108,000 units sold in the first half of the year, a 48% year-on-year increase. Electric vehicles now represent nearly 28% of the brand's total sales.
