Škoda Group expands industrial footprint in Moravian-Silesian Region
Škoda Group has marked five years since acquiring EKOVA ELECTRIC, solidifying the Moravian-Silesian Region as a primary industrial and technological hub for the company. The group operates through a specialized ecosystem in Ostrava consisting of Škoda Vagonka, Škoda Ekova, and Škoda Digital.
Škoda Vagonka focuses on the development and production of electric and battery-powered railway units, as well as aluminum structures for trains and metro vehicles. Škoda Ekova contributes to the production of rail vehicles and tram modernization, while Škoda Digital serves as a development center for control, communication, and diagnostic systems, including automatic train operation and anti-collision systems.
The group currently employs more than 1,500 people in the region and continues to invest in plant modernization and local research and development to support low-emission mobility projects both domestically and internationally.
