Škoda Group electric mobility industrial development

Overview

The Škoda Group is expanding its technological and industrial capabilities in the Czech Republic, specifically within the Moravian-Silesian Region. Following the acquisition of EKOVA ELECTRIC five years ago, the group has established a specialized ecosystem in Ostrava comprising Škoda Vagonka, Škoda Ekova, and Škoda Digital. This hub focuses on electric and battery-powered railway units, tram modernization, and digital systems such as automatic train operation.

To support these low-emission mobility projects, TEMSA has exported high-voltage battery technology to the Škoda Group. This shipment, consisting of 50 battery packs and 10 power distribution units totaling approximately 5 MWh, represents TEMSA’s first export of components rather than complete vehicles. TEMSA CEO Evren Güzel noted that the delivery demonstrates the company’s transition into a “technology exporter” through its in-house R&D and engineering capabilities.
