Škoda to reintroduce Superb sedan in India with diesel engine
Škoda has announced plans to reintroduce its luxury Superb sedan to the Indian market by early 2027. The upcoming model is expected to feature a return to diesel engines, specifically utilizing a 2.0-liter TDI engine from the Volkswagen Group.
However, the anticipated pricing has caused significant discussion in the region. Due to high import duties and taxes on vehicles manufactured outside of India, the fully equipped Superb is expected to cost between 55,000 and 60,000 euros. This is notably higher than the price of similar models in European markets.
Because Škoda does not plan for local assembly of this model in India, the vehicles will be imported as completely built units from the company's factory in Bratislava. This strategy contrasts with Škoda's other offerings in India, which focus on highly affordable models produced locally for the Indian market.
