Koei Tecmo and Konami Outline Multi‑Title Strategies to Reduce AAA Dependence

Koei Tecmo announced a development plan for the current fiscal year that targets six major PC and console releases and 19 mid‑size titles by the end of March 2027, plus two internally developed online/mobile games. The company cited upcoming AAA titles such as Wo Long 2, Nioh and Attack on Titan 3, while mid‑size releases will include series like Atelier and Nobunaga’s Ambition. The aim is to avoid over‑reliance on a few large launches and to create a steady revenue stream from a diversified portfolio.

At the same time, Konami producer Motoi Okamoto explained that the publisher will fund multiple games and a film concurrently, moving away from the practice of issuing a single remake as a market test. Following the success of the Silent Hill 2 remake, Konami plans a continuous release schedule, using external partners such as Bloober Team and NeoBards Entertainment, with a target of one new project per year. The next Silent Hill title, Silent Hill: Townfall, is scheduled for 24 September. Both companies seek to mitigate the financial risk of rising development costs by ensuring a regular flow of varied titles.
