Koei Tecmo Games announces Dynasty Warriors 2 Remastered pre-orders

Physical edition pre-orders for ‘Dynasty Warriors 2 with Xtreme Legends Remastered’ are scheduled to open from September 15 to September 30 for the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. Developed by Koei Tecmo Games, the title merges the original game with its expansion content into a single package built on Unreal Engine 5.

The remaster features overhauled character models, lighting, and large-scale battlefield representations. It includes over 40 playable officers, a new character named ‘Zilan’, and updated combat mechanics such as dodges, counterattacks, and a weapon combination system. Players can choose between modernized mechanics or classic settings to preserve the original gameplay feel.

In South Korea, the game is set for release on October 1 with an age rating of 15+. Regional distribution for physical copies will vary: the PlayStation 5 edition will be the Hong Kong version, while the Nintendo Switch 2 edition will be the North American version.
