KOGEI WALK 2026 to showcase traditional Japanese crafts in Tokyo

The Association for the Promotion of Traditional Craft Industries will host ‘KOGEI WALK 2026’ in Tokyo from October 23 to November 5, 2026. The event aims to connect artisans, retailers, and consumers by showcasing traditional Japanese crafts in 27 lifestyle shops across various districts, including Ginza, Nihonbashi, Omotesando, and Nakameguro.

This year’s event features 25 different types of traditional crafts. Participating shops will present curated items, such as Kyoto folding fans, Takaoka copperware, Yamanaka lacquerware, and Nishijin textiles, reimagined as practical tools for modern daily life rather than just decorative objects.

To encourage engagement, the event includes a stamp rally where participants can earn original items from the ‘Traditional Crafts Aoyama Square.’ Additionally, workshops and live demonstrations by master artisans, such as Nishijin weaving and Kumano brush making, will be held at various locations. Customers who complete surveys after purchasing eligible items can receive discount benefits for use at the Aoyama Square venue.
