Nigeria security forces conduct widespread operations against kidnapping and crime

Security agencies across Nigeria have conducted a series of operations targeting kidnapping syndicates, armed robbery, and terrorism. In Enugu State, the Nigerian Army and DSS arrested a suspected kidnapping syndicate commander and recovered four AK-47 rifles, seven magazines, 133 rounds of ammunition, and significant amounts of cash in both USD and Naira.

In Plateau State, police arrested a clergyman and two military personnel for an alleged plot to kidnap the wives of two prominent bishops. Additionally, troops in Jos successfully rescued two kidnap victims.

In Ogun State, a major crackdown resulted in the rescue of seven kidnap victims and the arrest of 38 suspects, including foreign nationals involved in fraud. In Kogi State, security forces rescued 15 victims following an attack on a transit bus.

Other notable actions include the interception of a terrorist logistics supplier in the Lake Chad Basin with 21,000 rounds of ammunition, and the foiling of an armed herder attack in Benue State.
