Koźle Port considers 16 million PLN renovation of Hafen Hotel
The city of Koźle Port is considering a direct intervention to renovate the historic Hafen Hotel, located at the intersection of Pocztowa and Żeglarska streets. After a previous attempt to sell the property for 1.6 million PLN failed to attract bidders, Mayor Sabina Nowosielska presented an alternative plan to the city council.
The estimated renovation cost is approximately 16.34 million PLN. The city aims to secure 12.77 million PLN in funding from the Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK), which would cover 85 percent of eligible costs, leaving a city contribution of roughly 3.57 million PLN.
Once renovated, the building is intended to house 31 municipal apartments, two commercial premises, and 35 parking spaces. The Mayor emphasized that preserving the decaying landmark is a priority that outweighs purely financial metrics, noting that while the full cost recovery might take 117 years, the investment would pay off in 27 years when considering only the city's direct contribution.
