Koleje Dolnośląskie and KOLEO integrate mObywatel for digital verification

Koleje Dolnośląskie and the ticket sales platform KOLEO have introduced a new digital verification system in Poland. By integrating the mObywatel government application into KOLEO, passengers can now verify their identity and student discount eligibility during the ticket purchase process.

This integration aims to streamline travel by reducing the need for passengers to present physical ID cards or student IDs to conductors. Once identity and eligibility are verified through mObywatel, the resulting tickets in the KOLEO app are fully validated and can function offline, which is particularly useful in mountainous regions with poor internet connectivity.

The system is expected to benefit both travelers and staff. Conductors perform over 2 million ticket inspections monthly, with online sales accounting for more than 60 percent of transactions. This digital solution simplifies the verification of approximately 1.2 million identity documents and hundreds of thousands of student discounts each month.
