Konami and FromSoftware outline future strategies for major gaming franchises

Konami Digital Entertainment is prioritizing the reboot of its major intellectual properties as a core business strategy. President Hideki Hayakawa stated that revitalizing franchises such as Metal Gear, Silent Hill, Castlevania, and Suikoden serves as a pillar for the company’s long-term growth. This strategy follows the commercial success of recent titles like the Silent Hill 2 remake and Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.

In addition to these reboots, Konami is developing new titles including the RPG Rev. NOiR and the upcoming Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, scheduled for release on October 15, 2026. The company also maintains a diverse pipeline featuring eFootball, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and various baseball and mobile titles.

Separately, FromSoftware President Hidetaka Miyazaki discussed the studio’s upcoming multiplayer-focused title, The Duskbloods, which is being developed as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive. Miyazaki noted that the collaboration with Nintendo was instrumental in refining the game’s complex PvPvE mechanics and tutorials. He indicated that while the studio is currently focused on multiplayer projects, the experience has increased the desire to return to single-player development following the success of Elden Ring.
