Konawe District Attorney arrested for alleged abuse of power

The Indonesian Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) has arrested Fachrizal, the Head of the Konawe District Attorney's Office, regarding allegations of abuse of power and professional misconduct. The arrest followed community reports of suspected misuse of authority for personal gain and violations of prosecutorial ethics.

Ahmad Sahroni, Vice Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), praised the Attorney General's Office for its decisive internal oversight. Sahroni emphasized that law enforcement agencies should act proactively against misconduct rather than waiting for cases to become public or go viral on social media. He noted that such swift action is essential to maintaining the integrity of the institution and aligns with the focus on legal certainty and integrity promoted by President Prabowo.
