Konawe District Attorney investigated for alleged nickel case abuse

The Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) is investigating Fachrizal, the Head of the Konawe District Attorney's Office in Southeast Sulawesi, for alleged abuse of power. The investigation is reportedly linked to the handling of nickel mining cases and allegations of seeking personal gain.

Anang Supriatna, Head of the Attorney General's Office Legal Information Center, confirmed that Fachrizal was detained by the Reform and Innovation Intelligence Task Force (SIRI) to deepen the investigation into reports of power misuse. While the specific details of the reports have not been disclosed, officials stated that if ethical violations are proven, the matter will be referred to the supervision division. The investigation is currently in the examination stage, and authorities are maintaining the presumption of innocence.
