KONI Gorontalo officials detained in Rp2.32 billion corruption case

The Gorontalo High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati Gorontalo) has named four suspects in a corruption case involving the misuse of 2024 grant funds intended for the Gorontalo National Sports Committee (KONI). The investigation focuses on approximately Rp25 billion in provincial government grants meant to support athletes and preparations for the 2024 Aceh-Sumut National Sports Week (PON).

The suspects include Fikram Salilama, Chairman of KONI Gorontalo and a member of the Gorontalo Provincial DPRD, who allegedly received Rp885,740,000. Other suspects are Abdullah Pala (General Secretary of KONI), Mohamad Amir Hamzah (CV Niyamal), and Mohamad Arif Mohi (CV Rahmah). The total estimated state financial loss is approximately Rp2.32 billion.

Investigators found that the misappropriation occurred during the procurement of goods and services and the distribution of aid to various sports branches. It is alleged that funds intended for athletes were partially cut before reaching them. All four suspects have been detained at the Gorontalo Correctional Institution for 20 days to facilitate further investigation.
