Konjic wildfires prompt deployment of military helicopters

Wildfires in the Konjic region of Bosnia and Herzegovina continue to spread, affecting areas including Kanjina, Živašnica, Brđani, Džepi, and Džepska planina. High temperatures, strong winds, and inaccessible terrain have made the fires difficult to control via ground crews.

To assist local firefighters and residents, the Ministry of Defence has deployed additional aerial resources. Following approval from the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Defense Minister Zukan Helez ordered the engagement of a second helicopter from the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (OSBiH).

Aerial firefighting efforts have included OSBiH helicopters, air tractors, and a helicopter from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska. Local authorities in Konjic have submitted an official request for international assistance to aid in aerial firefighting operations.
