Konya Cultural Road Festival wraps up with Simge concert and chef‑curated food showcase
Turkey’s nine‑day Konya Cultural Road Festival featured a wide programme of concerts, exhibitions, theatre, talks, workshops and child‑focused activities across the city. The closing night saw pop star Simge perform hits such as “Ben Bazen”, “Öpücem” and “Sevmek Yüzünden” before a crowd of thousands, providing a spectacular finale.
Chef Somer Sivrioğlu, on behalf of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, selected 53 local taste points, declaring Konya the city with the most culinary spots. He highlighted dishes including tandır böreği, furun kebabı, etli ekmek and his personal favourite, bamya soup. The gastronomy events were among the festival’s most popular attractions.
Following the Konya edition, the festival will continue in Nevşehir from 1‑9 August, extending the cultural journey across Turkey.
