Turkey hosts major gastronomy festivals in Konya and İnegöl
Two major gastronomy festivals have launched in Turkey to promote regional culinary heritage.
In Konya, the 4th Konya GastroFest is being held at the Kalehan Ecdat Bahçesi. Featuring 170 stands, the event showcases a culinary history spanning from Çatalhöyük to the Seljuk and Mevlevi traditions. Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay emphasized that the festival supports local producers and strengthens the city’s gastronomy tourism. The program includes workshops by famous chefs, tastings, and cultural discussions.
Simultaneously, the inaugural İnegöl Gastronomy Festival has opened at Heykel Meydanı in Bursa. Organized by the İnegöl Municipality, the event features approximately 100 stands showcasing over 200 local delicacies, including the famous İnegöl köfte. Mayor Alper Taban stated the festival aims to demonstrate the region’s culinary strength alongside its industrial and agricultural sectors. The three-day event includes panels, workshops, and appearances by prominent culinary experts and academics.
