Konya municipality upgrades asphalt at heavy‑vehicle garage and major overpass

Konya Metropolitan Municipality is carrying out asphalt works at the New Truck Garage (Yeni Kamyon Garajı) on the Aksaray Çevre Yolu intersection. The project includes a heavy‑tonnage, long‑lasting surface for trucks and is reported to cost about 160 million Turkish lira. Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay said the upgrade will raise road carrying capacity and ease inner‑city traffic.

The municipality also renovated the Kunduracılar Üst Geçidi, a key overpass that connects the city’s ring roads. Approximately 600 tons of asphalt were laid, with crews working night shifts to avoid traffic disruption. Altay highlighted that the work improves safety and comfort for drivers.
