Konya Science Center hosts nature and sky festivals

The Konya Science Center, operated by the Konya Metropolitan Municipality, hosted several scientific events in September under the TÜBİTAK 4007 Science Festivals Support Program. These included the ‘Konya Nature Festival’ and the ‘Konya Sky Festival,’ which provided hands-on scientific exploration for participants of all ages.

The Nature Festival, themed ‘From Seed to the Future,’ focused on agricultural sciences and nature education. Using STEM and STEAM approaches, the event covered topics such as plant biology, soil science, phytopathology, biotechnology, and sustainable agriculture through experiments, project-based learning, and gamification.

Additionally, the center implemented a project titled ‘Design of Inclusive Education Practices in Science Centers as Out-of-School Learning Environments.’ This initiative, part of the TÜBİTAK 4008 program, was specifically designed for teachers who have students with special needs in their classrooms.
