Konya Science Center educational activities and recognition

Overview

The Konya Science Center, managed by the Konya Metropolitan Municipality, has engaged in various scientific outreach and educational initiatives. In September, the center hosted the ‘Konya Nature Festival’ and the ‘Konya Sky Festival’ under the TÜBİTAK 4007 Science Festivals Support Program. These events utilized STEM and STEAM approaches to explore topics such as agricultural sciences, plant biology, and sustainable agriculture. The center also implemented an inclusive education project for teachers of students with special needs.

Following these activities, the center was honored with the ‘Contribution to Science Communication Award’ in the ‘Science Centers’ category. The award was presented by Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır during the Turkey Science Communication Summit in Ankara, recognizing the institution’s efforts to make scientific culture and knowledge more accessible to the public.
