The Konya Science Center, operated by the Konya Metropolitan Municipality, has received the ‘Contribution to Science Communication Award’ in the ‘Science Centers’ category. The award was presented by Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır to Mustafa Uzbaş, Deputy Mayor of Konya.

The recognition took place during the Turkey Science Communication Summit, which was organized by TÜBİTAK and hosted by Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara. The summit brought together scientists, academics, researchers, science communicators, and media representatives to discuss methods for making scientific knowledge more accessible, reliable, and effective for the public.

Discussions at the two-day event covered topics including science journalism, popular science publishing, citizen science, digital platforms, and the role of artificial intelligence in science communication. The award highlights the center's efforts to spread scientific culture and make science accessible to all segments of society.
