Turkey reports multiple fatal traffic accidents and safety concerns

Multiple traffic-related incidents and safety concerns have been reported across various regions in Turkey. Fatalities and injuries occurred in Şanlıurfa, where a crash resulted in two deaths, including a child, and two serious injuries. In Yomra, Trabzon, one person died after a truck overturned into a stream, while another collision involving a wrong-way overtake left eight people, including five children, injured.

Legal and regulatory issues have also surfaced. In Niğde, a family is appealing a court decision following a fatal crash involving an unlicensed minor. In Alanya, a taxi driver faced significant fines and license revocation after running a red light and colliding with a motorcycle.

Infrastructure and urban planning issues were highlighted in Istanbul's Karaköy district, where pedestrians are frequently bypassing underpasses and jumping over barriers to take shorter routes, creating safety risks. Additionally, a collision between ground service vehicles from Çelebi and TGS occurred at Antalya Airport, following a similar incident in August.

Other reported accidents include a motorcycle-car collision in Kırıkkale, a vehicle-pedestrian accident in Konya, and a collision at a junction in Nevşehir, where local residents are demanding speed bumps to prevent further accidents.
