Koperasi Merah Putih Advances Digital Transformation in Kendal, Indonesia
Village cooperatives in Kendal are undertaking a digital overhaul to improve accountability and efficiency. The Koperasi Merah Putih has begun using the SIMKOPDES management system and a mobile application that integrates savings, loans, logistics and member profiles into a single real‑time database, reducing manual errors and increasing transparency for members.
At the 79th Cooperative Day, Kendal Regent Dyah Kartika Permanasari urged all cooperatives to adopt modern technology, stating that digital tools are essential for sustaining grassroots economic development and reducing poverty. The regional Trade, Cooperatives and MSME office, led by Toni Ari Wibowo, highlighted that 531 cooperatives are active in the district and that digitalisation will strengthen their role as engines of local prosperity.
