South Korean industries integrate AI into recruitment and training

South Korean organizations and local governments are increasingly integrating artificial intelligence into recruitment and operational training.

Kia has announced its large-scale second-half 2026 recruitment drive, covering 30 sectors including R&D, IT, and manufacturing. Notably, the company is introducing an industry-first ‘AI problem-solving’ evaluation to identify ‘human-AI collaborative talent’ capable of using AI as a strategic partner. To engage Gen Z, Kia will also host a recruitment pop-up store in Seongsu-dong featuring a ‘morning rave’ concept.

In the biotechnology sector, the Korea Bio Association held an integrated recruitment briefing for 280 job seekers. The event highlighted that generative AI proficiency is becoming a critical keyword in the biohealth job market, alongside specialized technical expertise.

Other regional initiatives include the Korea Mining and Metals Corp launching its ‘AI Frontier’ group to identify field-specific AI tasks, and the Seohae-gu district in Incheon partnering with Chungwoon University to provide customized generative AI training for local small businesses and entrepreneurs.
