Koriun Inversiones victims protest in Juticalpa for lost savings

Victims of the Koriun Inversiones Ponzi scheme held a peaceful demonstration in Juticalpa, Olancho, to demand answers from the government and the Public Ministry regarding their lost savings. The protesters, organized under a National Commission representing seven regional boards, warned that they would escalate their demonstrations to Tegucigalpa if a solution is not provided.

The Koriun case emerged in April 2025 after the Public Ministry intervened the company, identifying it as an unauthorized entity operating a Ponzi scheme. The company reportedly promised weekly returns of up to 5 percent and had approximately 35,000 investors. During investigations, authorities seized over L358 million in cash from various locations linked to the firm.
