Korkut Ata Turkic World Film Festival returns to Istanbul
The 6th Korkut Ata Turkic World Film Festival is returning to Istanbul, where it was first held in 2021. Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy announced that the event will take place from November 3 to 7.
Organized by the General Directorate of Cinema in collaboration with the International Cinema Association, the festival aims to bring together filmmakers and industry representatives from Turkic republics and member or observer states of the Organization of Turkic States. This year, the festival is introducing a Short Film Competition for the first time to support young and independent filmmakers.
Films will compete for the Turna Kuşu Award in three distinct categories: fiction feature, documentary, and short film. For participants based in Turkey, the application deadline is September 25.
