In November 2026, Istanbul is set to host the first International Turkic World Korkut Ata Cinema Symposium. It brings together filmmakers from Turkic republics and states associated with the Organization of Turkic States. This year, the festival introduces a Short Film Competition to support young, independent filmmakers. Participants will compete for the ‘Turna Kuşu Award’ across three categories: fiction feature, documentary, and short film.

Additionally, in October 2026, major film festivals such as Filmekimi and MUBI FEST are scheduled to showcase award-winning international cinema across cities including Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, and Mersin. These festivals feature acclaimed works from the Cannes Film Festival, including films by Cristian Mungiu and Paweł Pawlikowski.
