Kosovo prosecutors reveal seven espionage cases linked to Serbian BIA
Kosovo prosecutors have revealed multiple espionage cases involving the Serbian Intelligence Agency (BIA). Bekim Kodraliu, a prosecutor for the Special Prosecution of Kosovo, stated that there have been seven identified cases of espionage and four convictions to date.
Two of these convictions are final, involving former high-ranking Kosovo Police officials Aleksandër Vlajiq and Bojan Jevtiq. Vlajiq had previously been convicted for a terrorist attack in Mitrovica.
Recent investigations have also targeted individuals suspected of providing intelligence to the BIA. Fehim Sali was arrested on suspicion of offering political information and identifying members of the Kosovo Intelligence Agency and Wahhabi circles as potential recruitment targets. Sali was granted 30 days of pre-trial detention.
In a separate case, Hysri Selimi was sentenced to six years in prison for allegedly cooperating with Serbian intelligence for over 15 years, providing information on individuals who joined the Islamic State.
