Kosovo reports seven espionage cases linked to Serbian Intelligence Agency

Special Prosecutor Bekim Kodraliu has revealed that seven cases of espionage linked to the Serbian Intelligence Agency (BIA) have been identified in Kosovo over the last two years. The investigations, conducted in cooperation with the Kosovo Intelligence Agency and the Kosovo Police, have resulted in four convictions, two of which are final.

Among those convicted are Aleksandër Vlajiq and Bojan Jevtiq, both former high-ranking police officials. Vlajiq served as a lieutenant at the Kamenicë border point, while Jevtiq was a police intelligence official in North Mitrovica. Both individuals have admitted guilt.

In a separate recent case, Hysri Selimi was sentenced to six years in prison for espionage in favor of the BIA. Prosecutors alleged that Selimi, who had previously been involved with ISIS, provided information regarding radicalized individuals and activities in Syria to Serbian intelligence for over 15 years.

Additionally, authorities have arrested Fehim Sali on suspicion of espionage. Sali is accused of providing information to a BIA official regarding Kosovo's political situation and identifying members of radical Islamic circles as potential recruitment targets. A court has approved a 30-day detention for Sali.
