Kosovo construction site death prompts digital drone inspections
A 26‑year‑old construction worker was killed when a crane collapsed at a building site in the Hospital district of Pristina, Kosovo. Acting Minister for Labour, Family and War Liberation Values Andi Hoti said the Central Labour Inspectorate, the Pristina municipal inspectorate and justice authorities are investigating the incident and urged that it not be politicised.
Hoti announced that responsibility for the accident must be fully established and that any liable parties will face legal action. He also revealed a new regulatory measure: starting 1 September, the Central Labour Inspectorate will conduct fully digital workplace inspections using laptops, mobile devices and, for the first time, drones to monitor safety conditions on construction sites.
The minister said the digital system will record data in real time, improving transparency and efficiency of inspections.
