Kosovo LDK Deputy accuses government of hiding Serbian wheat certificates

LDK Deputy Janina Ymeri has accused the Vetëvendosje government in Kosovo of concealing wheat import certificates from Serbia. Ymeri claims that over 1.6 million kilograms of wheat passed through the country in a single month, yet she alleges that controls were only effectively applied to a negligible amount.

Ymeri raised concerns regarding the potential risk of aflatoxins in imported grains and corn, noting that these substances can enter the food chain through animal feed and subsequently affect milk production. She has called for transparency from the Food and Veterinary Agency (AUV) regarding why these mandatory certificates are not being published and why large quantities of Serbian wheat are being permitted for import without public documentation.
