Albania sets new fuel price caps for diesel and gasoline

The Transparency Board has established new price ceilings for fuel products in Albania, effective September 19 at 16:00. This decision follows the declaration of a special situation in the hydrocarbon market.

Under the new regulations, the retail price for diesel (standard SSH EN 590) is capped at 219 lekë per liter, with a wholesale cap of 207 lekë per liter. For gasoline (standard SSH EN), the retail price cap is set at 195 lekë per liter, while the wholesale price must not exceed 183 lekë per liter.

The Ministry of Economy and Innovation, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy have collectively committed to protecting consumer interests and ensuring fair competition. Authorities have warned that any operators found violating these price ceilings will face immediate suspension of their activities.
