Kosovo Murder Suspect Arrested at Colombia’s El Dorado Airport

Colombia’s Minister of Defense, Pedro Arnulfo Sanchez, announced that Arian Lluka, a Kosovo Albanian wanted for the 2012 murder of Fidan Shabit in Peja, was detained at El Dorado International Airport. Kosovo had issued an Interpol notice after Lluka escaped from prison in 2019, accusing him of “heavy murder” and “endangering public safety.”

Investigators said Lluka travelled through multiple countries from 2023 to 2026 using forged documents and an alternate Serbian identity to evade international law enforcement. Colombian authorities highlighted the operation as evidence of effective cross‑border cooperation and migration control.
