Kosovo officials call for justice for missing persons in Geneva
Kosovo officials and human rights advocates held commemorative events in Geneva to mark the International Day of the Disappeared, calling for international action to resolve the fate of persons missing from the Kosovo war.
Andin Hoti, acting Minister for Work, Family, and War Values, met with representatives from the UN Committee on Enforced Disappearances and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights. Hoti requested that Serbia be held accountable to its obligations under the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance. He also submitted an official request to intensify international efforts to secure documentation necessary to locate the missing and advance justice.
Atdhe Hetemi, Executive Director of the Kosovo Institute for Legal Knowledge (IKKL), participated in a march for justice and an art exhibition titled ‘Ende duke pritur?’ (Still Waiting?). Hetemi emphasized the necessity of institutional cooperation and access to relevant archives to preserve evidence of war crimes and provide truth and justice to the families of the disappeared.
