Kosovo police arrest suspects after family firearm incidents in Suharekë and Vushtrri

In the village of Savrovë near Suharekë, 77‑year‑old D. K. allegedly shot his 40‑year‑old son V. K. during a family dispute. Police negotiated with the suspect, seized a 9 mm pistol, cartridge and five rounds, and arrested him. The victim received emergency care in Suharekë and was later transferred to Prizren General Hospital. D. K. faces charges of aggravated assault, illegal possession of firearms and use of a weapon.

In Vushtrri, 36‑year‑old Demokrat Ademi, who was a guest at a family gathering in Smrekonicë, fired a gas‑pistol that discharged into the air. Police arrived after a tip, confiscated the gas pistol, an empty cartridge and two shells, and opened a criminal case for illegal possession, use of a dangerous weapon and related offenses. Ademi was released pending further investigation.
