Kosovo Police launch road safety and anti‑domestic‑violence awareness campaigns

In July 2026 the Kosovo Police began two public‑awareness drives. The first, titled “Welcome to the Republic of Kosovo!”, targets road‑traffic safety during the summer peak. Officials distributed brochures with tips on speed limits, seat‑belt use, mobile‑phone bans and alcohol avoidance, and deployed mobile cameras, radar units and drones to detect violations, issuing fines by mail.

The second initiative, a campaign against domestic violence in South Mitrovica called “Stop It Together”, aims to raise awareness of physical, psychological, emotional, sexual and economic abuse. Police officers hand out informational leaflets across all municipalities under the Mitrovica South directorate and promote reporting via the 192 emergency line, local police stations or the “Report Police” app. The message stresses that domestic violence is a criminal offense and victims are entitled to protection and support.
