Kosovo Police seize weapons cache in Zubin Potok near Serbia border

Kosovo Police carried out coordinated raids at three locations in the Zubin Potok municipality, a mountainous area bordering Serbia. In the village of Presek, officers recovered an M48 rifle, multiple 7.62 mm magazines, 151 rounds of ammunition, camouflage uniform parts and illuminating batteries, and in a second nearby site seized another M48 rifle with 74 rounds and 254 additional 7.62 mm cartridges. In the uninhabited building in Qeçevë, police found an M48 rifle with a bayonet, 11 rifle rounds, 33 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, two cartridge‑loading tools, about 200 g of gunpowder, and metal spheres.

No arrests have been made and investigations continue. Authorities noted that some of the seized arms may be linked to the Banjska attack of September 2023. The operation was prompted by tips from local residents and was conducted in full coordination with the State Prosecutor’s Office.
