Kosovo Specialist Chambers rules Behajdin Allaqi was killed by KLA

The Kosovo Specialist Chambers has determined that Behajdin Allaqi, a professor and political activist, was killed after being detained by the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) headquarters in Drenoc, Rahovec. The findings were part of a first-instance judgment against Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi, and Rexhep Selimi.

Allaqi, a sociology and philosophy lecturer who was decorated as a Hero of Kosovo in 2015, disappeared in June 1998. The court noted that in 1993, Allaqi had a serious disagreement with Thaçi and Azem Syli, who accused him of bringing a suspected Serbian spy into the Popular Movement for the Republic of Kosovo (LPRK).

Defense lawyers for Thaçi have contested the court's handling of the case, arguing that while the conclusions regarding Allaqi's death were made public, the underlying evidence remained confidential.
