Kosovo's KEDS Schedules Widespread Power Outages for Preventive Maintenance

The Kosovo Electricity Distribution Company (KEDS) announced planned network works that will cause temporary power cuts across many parts of the country. On Monday, 6 July 2026, maintenance on transformers and other equipment will suspend supply in Pristina, Badovci, Mazgit, and several surrounding villages from early morning until mid‑afternoon, with specific outage windows for each feeder.

A separate set of works is slated for the following Tuesday, affecting additional neighborhoods in Pristina, Drenas, Peja, Prizren, Ferizaj, Mitrovica, Gjakova and other rural areas. Outages will typically run between 10:00 and 15:30, with some zones experiencing longer interruptions for transformer replacements and line cleaning. KEDS emphasized that the interventions are preventive, aimed at improving system reliability and safety, and asked consumers to be patient.

Overall, the scheduled outages will impact thousands of households and businesses as KEDS upgrades and cleans its distribution network.
