Koudougou hosts launch of AES biometric identity card operations

The National Identification Office (ONI) launched special operations in Koudougou on September 9, 2026, to establish AES biometric identity cards (CIB-AES). This initiative serves as a prelude to the VII edition of International Identity Day, observed annually on September 16.

According to ONI Director General Arzouma Daouda Parfait Louré, the program aims to bring identification services closer to the population through proximity actions. The initiative is intended to facilitate administrative procedures and enable citizens to participate more fully in economic and social life. Lucien Guengueré, the Secretary General of the Nando region, noted that access to such identification is a necessity for justifying identity and accessing basic services.
