Kournos Music Festival 2026 set for August on Limnos Island
The sixth edition of the Kournos Music Festival will take place on Limnos Island in Greece from 2 to 17 August 2026. The theme, “Excavation / Re‑excavation,” links the event to the island’s archaeological heritage, including the 100‑year anniversary of the discovery of the ancient volcanic settlement.
The program features Greek and international performers such as Elli Paspala, Adriano Adewale, Nikos Veliotès and beat‑boxer Giorgos Gargalas. Highlights include the children’s opera “Digging the Sea,” which received the Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung award, and a visual‑art collaboration with Polygreen Culture and Art Initiative. Several performances are slated for the abandoned Sunrise disco and other historic sites on the island. All events are free to the public.
