Kozani police arrest two suspects in telephone fraud targeting elderly woman

The Police Department of Servia in Kozani carried out a coordinated raid on July 7, 2026, arresting a 30‑year‑old woman and her 31‑year‑old male associate. The pair had attempted a telephone scam the previous day, calling an 85‑year‑old resident of Kozani and impersonating an accountant to demand money and fees. The victim reported the call, prompting police to locate the suspects as they tried to collect a bag allegedly containing cash and gold.

During the operation officers seized the suspects' vehicle, two mobile phones and €105 in cash. Both were taken to the Kozani misdemeanor prosecutor for further investigation and possible prosecution.
