Kozarska Dubica commemorates 31 years since 1995 defense

Commemorations are being held in Kozarska Dubica to mark the 31st anniversary of the defense of the region during the 1995 military operation known as ‘Una 95’. The events honor the soldiers and civilians who died during the conflict involving Croatian military forces attempting to cross the Una River.

Activities included a memorial academy titled ‘Zavjet 18. septembra’, which utilized documentary footage and testimonies to recount the defense of the western borders of Republika Srpska. Additionally, a memorial service was held in Donja Gradina to honor Zoran Bulić, a police officer killed during the defense.

Local officials, including Mayor Igor Savković and Minister Senka Jujić, emphasized the importance of maintaining a culture of remembrance to ensure younger generations understand the historical significance of the defense of the municipality and the surrounding areas.
