KPAI monitors child sexual abuse case in East Sumba

The Indonesian Commission for Child Protection (KPAI) is monitoring a case of alleged sexual violence against a 13-year-old child in the Lewa District of East Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara.

KPAI Chairperson Dian Sasmita noted that the victim is receiving assistance from the organization Sabana Sumba. Sasmita emphasized that under the Sexual Violence Crimes Law (UU TPKS), victims are entitled to handling, assistance, and recovery, which requires synergy between various legal and social institutions to ensure the victim's rights are fully met.
