KPK Board to Examine Police Officer Setya Budi Dias in Pemalang Extortion Case

Indonesia's Commission on Corruption Eradication (KPK) supervisory board (Dewas) announced it will examine police officer Setya Budi Dias, who is serving as an administrative staff member at KPK, after he was named a suspect in an alleged extortion scheme targeting Pemalang regent Anom Widiyantoro.

Board member Benny Mamoto said he has coordinated with Deputy for Enforcement Asep Guntur Rahayu to arrange the examination. Chair Gusrizal added that the inquiry aims to gather information for evaluating KPK’s internal oversight and to prevent similar incidents, while noting Dias’s status as a police officer may affect jurisdictional authority.
