KPK searches Bogor Regency Education Office over procurement corruption

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted a search at the Bogor Regency Education Office in West Java on Friday, August 28, 2026. The operation aims to uncover evidence regarding alleged corruption in the procurement of goods and services within the department.

KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that investigators are currently focused on deepening the probe into these procurement processes to find relevant evidence or clues. This action follows a separate investigation into the Bogor Regency Government, where authorities previously secured Rp1.5 billion in evidence related to alleged corruption involving the Regional Revenue Management Agency (Bappenda).

While rumors of a sting operation (OTT) circulated in late August, the KPK clarified that no such operation took place, though the investigation has been upgraded to a formal inquiry following the discovery of suspected illegal levies.
