KPSC recruitment paper leak allegations spark political row in Karnataka

BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra has accused the Congress-led Karnataka government of double standards regarding an alleged paper leak in the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) veterinary officer recruitment examination.

Patra alleged that the question paper for the exam, which was held on January 8 and 9 for approximately 1,400 candidates, was leaked on January 7. He claimed that the former KPSC Controller of Examinations, IAS officer Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar, leaked the paper to a middleman named Basavaraj Kannale. According to the allegations, Kannale then offered access to the paper and answers to candidates in exchange for payments ranging from Rs 30 lakh to Rs 40 lakh.

The matter was reportedly brought to light by whistleblower S Manjunath, leading to investigations by the Karnataka CID and the Enforcement Directorate.
