Krafton plans $500 million investment in India following meeting with PM Modi
Krafton Chairman Byung Gyu Chang met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi to discuss the South Korean gaming giant’s long-term investment strategy in India. The company plans to invest an additional $250 million over the next three to four years, bringing its total planned investment in the country to approximately $500 million.
Beyond traditional game development, Krafton is expanding its focus into emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and deep-tech. The company has also established a $670 million venture growth fund to support startups within India’s digital ecosystem.
To strengthen the local developer pipeline, Krafton has launched the KIGI Academy for technical training and recently acquired Nautilus Mobile, a Pune-based studio known for the ‘Real Cricket’ franchise. These initiatives align with India’s ‘Create in India, Create for India, Create for the World’ mission and the broader ‘Viksit Bharat’ development agenda.
