Krafton investment expansion in India
Overview
Krafton Chairman Chang Byung-gyu met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi to discuss long-term cooperation within India’s gaming, technology, and digital entertainment ecosystems.
The South Korean company plans to invest an additional $250 million over the next three to four years, which would bring its total planned investment in India to approximately $500 million. Beyond gaming, Krafton is expanding its focus into emerging sectors including artificial intelligence, robotics, and deep tech.
To support the local digital ecosystem, Krafton, alongside Naver and Mirae Asset, has established a $670 million Unicorn Growth Fund (UGF) to support Indian startups and gaming IP. The company is also investing in local talent through the KIGI Academy and has expanded its presence via the acquisition of Nautilus Mobile, the developer of the ‘Real Cricket’ franchise.
