Kragujevac Neonatology Center receives new mobile X-ray machine
The Neonatology Center at the University Clinical Center in Kragujevac has received a new mobile X-ray machine valued at 12 million dinars. The equipment was acquired through donations from UNICEF supporters and citizens, with OTP Bank providing more than half of the necessary funds.
The mobile device allows for radiographic diagnostics to be performed directly at the bedside or incubator. This eliminates the need to transport premature or ill infants to a radiology department, reducing the risk of health deterioration during transit and enabling faster, safer diagnosis. The center serves premature and sick infants from central and western Serbia, a region with approximately two million residents.
UNICEF has invested over one million euros in improving neonatal healthcare in Serbia since 2018, including approximately 400,000 euros specifically for the Kragujevac center. Kristina de Bruyn, UNICEF Director in Serbia, emphasized the organization's commitment to continuing investments in neonatal care for the country's most vulnerable children.
