Medical equipment upgrades in Kragujevac neonatology

Overview

The Neonatology Center at the University Clinical Center in Kragujevac, Serbia, has acquired a new mobile X-ray machine valued at 12 million dinars. The equipment was funded through donations from citizens and UNICEF supporters, with OTP Bank contributing more than half of the necessary funds.

The mobile device enables radiographic diagnostics to be performed at the bedside or incubator, which reduces the risks associated with transporting premature or ill infants to a radiology department. The center provides care for infants from central and western Serbia, a region of approximately two million residents. Since 2018, UNICEF has invested over one million euros in Serbian neonatal healthcare, including roughly 400,000 euros for the Kragujevac center.
